Hi, I’m Ellen, the Webonatrix.
I was born in the UK, but have lived in New Zealand since late 2009. This is home and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I’ve been working as a web content wrangler since 2012. My path to a digital career was via administration (because that’s what English Literature graduates do to earn a living), and then adult education- which taught me a lot about communicating concepts so they are easy to understand. It also required the ability to adapt on the fly, and leave my ego at the door- both vital skills for project work.

I offer solid skills in content creation and management, as well as accessibility. I have a sound understanding of what makes a quality online presence- as well as experience in producing it.
I’ve used multiple different content management systems (trust me, I can figure yours out) and worked on major website overhauls for Victoria University of Wellington, Auckland Live, and the Blind Foundation, as well as various bits of digital in between, from researching and writing blog posts for a tourism company, to working on politically sensitive content for Auckland Council, even moderating Minimonos, a social networking site aimed at children 11 and under.
I am registered as a Sole Trader in New Zealand.
